How to Enable Validation and Opportunity Creation for Organisations in Moderation

By default, users can't submit due diligence forms (validation) nor create new opportunities for opportunities in moderation.

On the other hand, this is easy to change if you want to enable users to do those things above.

As for the specific setting itself, there are three options available as of now:

  1. Organisations in moderation may submit due diligence forms (validate)
  2. Organisations in moderation may create opporunities
  3. Organisations added success and instruction page to be skipped

To access these options, navigate to Settings first.

Then, under Usage and Account, go to the Approval and Moderation tab.

Scroll down a little until you get to the Organisations in moderation group.

Now, let's talk about what each option does specifically.

Organisations in moderation may submit due diligence forms (validate)

By default, users can only submit due diligence forms once the organisation is approved.

If they try to access the validation page, they will get a 403 Forbidden message:

To change this, simply slide the setting to YES on the organisations in moderation group.

Don't forget to save your changes (the button is on the bottom of the Usage and Account category).

After this, users will not be able to access the validation page and submit due diligence forms.

Organisations in moderation may create opportunities

The default setting for this option is that users may not be able to add new opportunities to organisations in moderation.

The reason for this is that when adding a new opportunity, the user must identify which organisation the new activity belongs to.

However, they won't be able to see the organisation in moderation from the choices, so they won't be able to add a new opportunity for that organisation.

For instance, let's say a user added a new organisation called "Eastview Children" that's still in moderation.

Users who want to add new opportunities for that organisation will not be able to see it from the choices on the add opportunity page, as shown below.

To change this, simply slide the setting to YES on the organisations in moderation group.

Don't forget to save your changes (the button is on the bottom of the Usage and Account category).

Once you enabled this setting, users will now be able to see the organisation in moderation, along with a note telling the user that the organisation is still pending approval.

Organisations added success and instruction page to be skipped

Every time a user adds a new organisation, he or she will be redirected to a simple page that informs them their organisation has been added and ask them to upload existing volunteers and add an opportunity.

The page looks like this — with the second bullet disappears if you disable the option above where users can add new opportunities for organisations in moderation.

But if you want the user to go straight directly to the organisation's profile page, all you need to do is turn the option to YES.

This will make the user who just added a new organisation skip the instruction page.

This will make the user jump to the organisation's profile page right away, with a green banner thanking the user for adding a new organisation.
