How to Activate Outcomes on Your Activities

If there are outcomes for participants that need to be reported on like what kind of training was received or marks achieved, you can always activate the outcomes feature.


But if your activities don't have specific outcomes, you can also switch off the functionality to not include outcomes in the reporting.


How to activate outcomes


Make sure to log in on the platform as a super administrator. Then, follow these steps:


1. Navigate to the setup panel of your platform first and go to the "Appearance" tab under "Usage and Account".



2. Scroll down a little bit until you see the option where you can require outcomes or not.


Toggle it to "YES" if you want to require outcomes on opportunities and include them on reporting.



Don't forget to click the Save button at the bottom.


How to add outcomes to an opportunity


If you want to add an outcome to an opportunity, just add a new opportunity as usual.


Near the bottom, you will have to select the determine the outcome of the opportunity.


To select from a current list of outcomes, click on the outcomes field and select from the choices.



By the way, the asterisk on the field name means the system requires you to fill out the outcomes field.


Now, if the type of outcome you want to include isn't in the list, you can also type in the field the outcome.


When you do, click on the "Add Option" below the field and the outcome you entered will become part of the database.


The outcome you entered will be part of the database and can't be deleted to protect the data collected.



Editing an Outcome


In the event where you need to edit the outcome of the session, you can do so while the opportunity is still under moderation. Kindly read this article to know more about moderation.


Once the opportunity is in session, avoid editing the outcomes as it may affect the data collected.

You cannot delete the outcomes once created as this will have a direct negative impact of the data collected.



The outcomes you added will be shown on the event report as you can see below:



Profiles of those who attended the session will also show the outcomes achieved.



You will also see those outcomes in the section that shows which opportunities the user was involved in.
