Budget Planning Input
What To Expect:
- Learn how to set up budget planning input from the Setup Panel
- Learn about the budget fields on an opportunity's Planning and Management
Introduction
Budgeting could help your organisation reach your goals. Having a budget plan helps you prioritize your fundraising and lets you focus about the more important things like managing the affairs of your organisation.
However, you have to activate this feature first on the Setup Panel for the related fields to appear in your reports.
Setting Up Budget Planning Input on the Setup Panel
To start, open up the Setup Panel by clicking [Settings] at the left-hand sidebar.
Under the "Usage and Account" tab, click [Reporting].
Click the slider under the "Advanced Opportunity Fields" to activate this feature.
You can then enter a customised title for the field like "What is the budget for the opportunity?" or "What is your fundraising goal?". You can make up your own as you see fit. Enter it under the field title form.
You can also enter a customised field help. This is the text you see within the text form to help you and your users clarify your budget planning. Enter it under the field help form.
Once you are done, scroll down and click "Save".
Budget Fields on Planning and Management
After you activate this feature, two additional fields will show under the Planning and Management section of opportunity details.
On the first field, you will have to enter the amount you plan to raise.
Note: Enter whole numbers only. The currency used is United States Dollar ($).
The next field is the "Budget Note" where you can enter a short description or narrative about your budget.
